George Kusunoki Miller, also known professionally as Joji and formerly for portraying the roles of Pink Guy and Filthy Frank, was born on September 18, 1992, in Japan. He is also a rapper, former comedian, singer-songwriter, and YouTuber. R&B, lo-fi, and trip-hop have all been identified as influences on Miller’s music.
Shortly after arriving in the country, Miller started “The Filthy Frank Show” on YouTube. He was known for his eccentric roles on the comedy channels TVFilthyFrank, TooDamnFilthy, and DizastaMusic. The channels are renowned for their shocking humor and prodigious virality. They featured comedic hip-hop, rants, extreme challenges, and ukulele and dance performances. The Harlem Shake became more well-known because of Miller’s videos, which also helped Baauer’s song of the same name become commercially successful. This popularity sparked the creation of memes and partnerships with other YouTubers. Between 2014 and 2017, Miller published two comedy studio albums and an extended play under the name Pink Guy.
Miller canceled “The Filthy Frank Show” in late 2017 in order to focus on his music career as Joji. 2018 saw the release of Ballads 1, his debut album, which included the hit “Slow Dancing in the Dark.” The singles “Sanctuary” and “Run” were on his second album, Nectar (2020). His greatest charting song, “Glimpse of Us,” was published in 2022 and peaked at number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. It was eventually included in his third album, Smithereens (2022).
The new single “Glimpse of Us,” which Joji released on June 9, 2022, reached its highest point on the Billboard Hot 100 at position eight. He released a second single titled Yukon on August 26. (Interlude). Joji released his album “Smithereens” and the song “Die For You” on November 4. Since September 2022, Joji has been traveling across North America to promote the record.
