American singer Justine Indira Skyers, also known as Justine Skye, was born on August 24, 1995. At the age of 19, Skye, whose initial notoriety came through Tumblr, got into the music business and signed with Atlantic Records.
Skye debuted as a professional singer when she sang the songs that accompanied the book “Rules To Rock By.” She is well recognized for her YouTube cover of Drake’s song Headlines, which has amassed over two million views. Skye released her debut mixtape, Skye High, in 2012. In 2013, she signed a record deal with Atlantic Records thanks to the success of her debut seven-track EP, Everyday Living, which came after Skye High. Her song “Hard Work” reached the top 10 of BET’s 106 & Park. In 2015, she issued the album Emotionally Unavailable. Her single “Collide,” which was produced by DJ Mustard and featured the rapper Tyga, was made public shortly after.
She gave performances at Tommy Hilfiger’s presentation in Brazil and at Jay-TIDAL10X20 Z’s event in October 2015. Skye’s contributions go beyond music; she also appeared as a guest star on the final episode of House of DVF.
She parted ways with Atlantic in 2016 and joined Roc Nation and Republic Records. Skye’s EP 8 Ounces was released in December 2016 with favorable reviews.
On January 18, 2018, her debut album Ultraviolet was made available. The singles “U Don’t Know” (featuring Wizkid), “Back for More” (featuring Jeremih), and “Don’t Think About It” were all included on the album. The song “Good Love” became a part of the album pre-order on December 8, the same day the music video for “Don’t Think About It” was released. The album’s highest position on the R&B Album Sales chart was number 16.
Her third studio album, Space & Time, was released in June 2021. Grammy-winning producer Timbaland served as executive producer of the record.
