PartyNextDoor, also known by the stage name Jahron Anthony Brathwaite (born July 3, 1993), is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer.
In a partnership with Warner Records, PartyNextDoor became the first artist to be signed to Drake’s OVO Sound record label in 2013. Later that year, he released his self-titled debut EP under the name PartyNextDoor. Then, in 2014, he published PartyNextDoor Two and PNDColours, and in 2016, PartyNextDoor 3. Along with writing “Work,” which was included in Rihanna’s album Anti and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, he has also seen success as a songwriter. He also wrote “Wild Thoughts,” which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
He obtained a publishing contract with Warner/Chappell as a songwriter, using the stage name PartyNextDoor, at the age of 18, after releasing electronic-influenced R&B music under his real name Jahron Brathwaite [Jahron B]. On July 1, 2013, PartyNextDoor, his debut mixtape, was made available on the iTunes Store. With 2,000 copies sold, it debuted at number six on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart and reached its highest position of number 34 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for the week ending July 20, 2013. On the songs “Own It” and “Come Thru” from Drake’s third studio album, Nothing Was the Same, he contributed backup vocals.
PartyNextDoor Two, his debut studio album, was released on July 30, 2014. Thirsty, FWU, East Liberty, and Drake’s Billboard chart-topping “Recognize” were just a few of the record’s singles. PartyNextDoor later that year, on December 3, 2014, released the four-track EP PNDColours, which was followed up by COLOURS 2 in 2017. He worked on Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late album in 2015, producing the songs “Legend,” “Preach,” and “Wednesday Night Interlude.”
