Christopher Brent Wood, sometimes known as Brent Faiyaz, is an American R&B singer who was born on September 19, 1995. He became well-known after Shy Glizzy and he appeared on the GoldLink hit “Crew” in 2016, which was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and was certified 6 Platinum by the RIAA.
His singles “Mercedes,” “Wasting Time,” and “Gravity,” all of which featured Tyler, the Creator, and Drake, gained his entries on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021. Wasteland, the follow-up to Faiyaz’s debut album, arrived at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
In 2014, Faiyaz started posting his avant-garde music to SoundCloud. He relocated from his hometown of Columbia, Maryland, to Charlotte, North Carolina, and then settled in Los Angeles, California, to advance his musical career, all during that time. He released his debut single, “Allure,” on January 19, 2015. The main song from Faiyaz’s debut EP, “Invite Me,” was made available on June 1st, 2016. On his 21st birthday, September 19, 2016, the EP A.M. When Paradox was made public, music critics gave it high marks.
