Terry Ellis, Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, and Maxine Jones were the initial members of the American vocal female group En Vogue. En Vogue, who formed in Oakland, California in 1989, hit No. 2 on the US Hot 100 with the single “Hold On,” off their debut album Born to Sing, released in 1990. The group’s 1992 follow-up album Funky Divas entered the top 10 in both the US and UK, and contained their second US number two single “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)” as well as the US top 10 success “Giving Him Something He Can Feel” and “Free Your Mind”.
