Nick Santino and two other musicians started a group called Beach Weather in August 2015 after being asked by Maine to open for their Free For All 2015 Tour. Beach Weather came into being after two weeks. On August 28, 2015, they released their EP What a Drag. On August 30, 2015, in Henderson, Nevada, they gave their first joint live performance at the start of the Free for All Tour with Maine. The following year saw the publication of their second EP, Chit Chat. In 2016, the group went on tour with Sleeping with Sirens in Europe and the UK.
Six years after the song’s first release, in September 2022, Beach Weather created a music video in response to the song “Sex, Drugs, etc.” being famous on TikTok in June 2022. On the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart for the week of February 11, 2023, the single peaked at number two. Beach Weather released “Unlovable,” their first single in six years, on August 12th, 2022. The single and music video for “Trouble With This Bed” was released by Beach Weather on November 11th, 2022. The group also revealed that their debut full-length album, “Pineapple Sunrise,” would be out on March 3rd, 2023. On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Beach Weather sang “Sex, Drugs, etc.” on the 28th of November 2022. The song received a Silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry in 2023.
