Kris Barman, better known by his stage name Wuki, is an American DJ, record producer, and musician. From 2007 through 2011, he participated in programming, played the guitar and synthesizer, and performed backup vocals for the electronic rock group Innerpartysystem.
Since then, Wuki has developed his solo project into the instantly recognizable brand it is today, amassing over 45 million plays of his music to date across all platforms. In 2012, Wuki released his first-ever self-release, a four-track EP titled “Something For Everyone Vo.” In the years that followed, he continued to create unforgettable songs including “Diwali,” “Buffalo Bass,” “Jungle Funk,” and “That’s Right.” In 2015, Wuki became well-known throughout the world with his remix of the smash song “Kingpin” by RL Grime and Big Sean. The remix swiftly propelled the producer to the top of the charts. Wuki wants to exercise full creative control over his own music and establish his own brand after having a significant quantity of music released on reputable imprints like OWSLA, Main Course, Mad Decent, Fool’s Gold, and Ultra. He established his own record label, Wukileaks, which he uses to help friends and release edits that have amassed millions of plays to date. Industry heavyweights like Diplo, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, The Chainsmokers, Anna Lunoe, Zeds Dead, and many others took notice of Wuki’s popular bootleg edits and remixes. Diplo even gave Wuki his own monthly radio show, Wukileaks Wednesdays, on Diplo’s Revolution. For the remix of Mother’s Daughter, he received a nomination for best remix at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
