The Shapeshifters is the stage name now used by Gothenburg-based Swedish producer Max Reich and English house producer Simon Marlin. The Shapeshifters were originally signed to Positiva and have been with Defected Records since 2008. Their breakthrough song, “Lola’s Theme,” which peaked at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart in July 2004, is what made them most famous.
Formerly producing and touring as a duo with Max Reich, Marlin has continued working and performing under the Shapeshifters moniker as a solo act since 2017. His releases in the United States fall under the name Shape:UK, in part due to a trademark conflict with the Los Angeles-based hip hop group the Shape Shifters.
