American DJ and record producer Sonny John Moore, better known by his stage name Skrillex, was born on January 15, 1988. He was raised in Northeast Los Angeles and Northern California before becoming the lead singer of the post-hardcore band From First to Last in 2004. The group released two studio albums, Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Bodycount (2004) and Heroine (2006), before he left in 2007 to focus on his solo career. In late April 2007, he started his first solo tour. Moore joined the Alternative Press Tour to support acts like All Time Low and the Rocket Summer after assembling a new band lineup, and she also made an appearance on the cover of Alternative Press’ annual “100 Bands You Need to Know” edition.
Skrillex has more Grammy Awards than any other performer of electronic dance music, with eight to his name. The band Jack Ü and Dog Blood were created by Skrillex along with Diplo and Boys Noize, respectively. The news of Moore’s reunion with From First to Last and the release of the song “Make War” was revealed on his 29th birthday. Skrillex mixed and produced Incubus’ eighth studio album, 8, which was released in 2017. Another track by Skrillex with Poo Bear, who was making his solo debut, was released in July 2017.
