Melanie Fiona Hallim (born July 4, 1983) is a singer and songwriter from Canada. She was born and reared in the Canadian city of Toronto. She began her career in 2002 as part of a Canadian female group trio that received a Juno Award nomination for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for their self-titled album. She then became a member of The Renaissance (together with rapper Drake) and released several reggae songs under the name Syren Hall.

Fiona released her debut solo album The Bridge in 2009, working with Future Cut, Vada Nobles, Stereotypes, J. Phoenix, and Peter Wade Keusch. On February 28, 2009, her debut song, “Give It to Me Right,” was released to radio stations and peaked at number 20 on the Canadian Hot 100 list and number 41 on the UK Singles list. “It Kills Me,” her second single, became her breakout hit on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching the Top 50 and topping the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Fiona was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for the song. “Monday Morning” is her biggest European success to date.
