Mara Liasson (born June 13, 1955) is a journalist and political commentator from the United States. She is NPR’s national political correspondent and a Fox News Channel contributor.

Before joining NPR in 1985, Liasson worked as a freelance radio and television reporter in San Francisco and at Berkeley’s KPFA. She received a Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism to study at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism for a year, which she did in 1988-89 before becoming NPR’s congressional reporter. From 1992 through 2001, she was NPR’s White House reporter, winning the Merriman Smith Award for daily news coverage from the White House Correspondents’ Association in 1994, 1995, and 1997. She is presently the national political correspondent for NPR.
