Kimberly Michelle Pate (born March 4, 1982) is a singer, actress, and television personality from the United States. During the first two seasons of the VH1 reality television series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, she was a regular cast member. Michelle later signed with Atlantic Records. Rebellious Soul, her debut studio album, debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 and number one on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Anyone Want to Purchase a Heart? is her second studio album. On December 9, 2014, it was released. The album peaked at eight six in the US and yielded three singles “Love ‘Em All”, “Maybe I Should Call” and “Hard to Do”. In its first week, the album sold 87,000 copies.
Michelle’s third studio album, More Problems Than Vogue, was released in March 2016 with good reviews. “Not a Little Bit” and “Ain’t You” were among the album’s singles. Kimberly: The People I Used to Know, her fourth album, was released on December 8, 2017, and debuted in the top ten of Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. All Monsters Are Human, her fifth studio album, was released on January 31, 2020. The singles “Supahood” and “The Rain” preceded the album.
She has also appeared in reality shows such as Love & Hip Hop: New York, K. Michelle: My Life, and Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood (as Kimberly), as well as her own special, The Rebellious Soul Musical, directed by Golden Globe winner Idris Elba. Michelle has gotten four BET Award nominations over her career. In 2013 and 2014, she received Soul Train Music Awards and NAACP Image Awards. In 2015, she received an ASCAP Women Behind the Music award.
