Ivan Cornejo is a singer-songwriter who plays regional Mexican music in the United States. He was born in Riverside, California, in 2004. The middle school breakup suffered by Cornejo served as a source of creative inspiration. He used YouTube videos to teach himself how to play the guitar. The first song he learned to play was Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba.”
Alma Vacia, Cornejo’s debut album, reached number two on the Top Latin Albums chart and number seven on the US Billboard Regional Mexican Albums chart.
