Tahliah Debrett Barnett (born 16 January 1988) is an English singer, songwriter, and dancer best known as FKA Twigs (stylized as FKA twigs). She was born and reared in Cheltenham, and after migrating to London at the age of 17, she became a backup dancer for a number of notable performers before making her own musical debut with EP1 (2012).
LP1 (2014), Barnett’s debut studio album, debuted at number 16 on the UK Albums Chart and number 30 on the US Billboard 200. It was also nominated for the Mercury Prize that year. She then released the EP M3LL155X (2015) before taking a four-year vacation and releasing her second studio album, Magdalene (2019). She released the mixtape Caprisongs (2022) after signing with Atlantic Records. Her work has received widespread acclaim and has been described as “genre-bending,” with influences ranging from electronic music to trip-hop R&B and avant-garde.
