English electronic music trio Clean Bandit was founded in Cambridge in 2008. On the UK Singles Chart, they had four number-one songs and ten top-ten hits. Many of the music videos they direct and produce have received nominations for Brit Awards and VMAs. Two of them, “Symphony” and “Rockabye,” have received over 1 billion views on YouTube, with Rockabye surpassing 2.7 billion views. Founder Grace Chatto and brothers Jack and Luke Patterson make up the group right now. The song “Rather Be” was written primarily by Jack Patterson, who has received two Ivor Novellos for his work. Numerous of their projects are renowned for incorporating dance and classical music components and for including guest vocalists.
They achieved their first UK chart-topping single with “Rather Be,” a Jess Glynne collaboration, in January 2014. Moreover, the song peaked at number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song won the Grammy for Best Dance Recording in 2015. The BPI has awarded the band’s New Eyes debut album with a gold rating. It was published in June 2014. Their 2016 track “Rockabye,” which includes singer Anne-Marie and Jamaican musician Sean Paul, became their second UK number-one success and the year’s top holiday single. The song helped the band top international charts and peaked at number nine in the US. Their third UK number-one single in 2017 was “Symphony,” which featured Zara Larsson. What Is Love, their second album? was made available in November 2018. In total, Clean Bandit has sold 1.6 million albums and over 13 million singles as of 2016.
