Born on October 25, 1985, Ciara Princess Wilson Harris is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, model, and businesswoman. After the release of her first studio album, Goodies (2004), she gained notoriety. It featured the top five singles “1, 2 Step” (featuring Missy Elliott), “Oh” (containing Ludacris), and “Goodies” (featuring Petey Pablo), the latter of which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded the album triple platinum certification, and it received two nominations for the 48th Annual Grammy Awards. Ciara also contributed to the songs “Lose Control” by Missy Elliott and “Like You” by Bow Wow, both of which peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
Ciara has acted in movies including Mama, I Want to Sing, and All You’ve Got (2006). The Game (2012), That’s My Child (2012), and (2013). The 2023 remake of The Color Purple will star Ciara as Nettie, it was announced in March 2022.[7] Ciara has won numerous awards, including a Grammy, two BET Awards, the Woman of the Year honor from Billboard Women in Music, two MTV Video Music Awards, seven Soul Train Awards, and thirteen Ascap Music Awards. Worldwide sales for Ciara have surpassed 45 million as of 2019.
