Boyz II Men (pronounced boys to men) is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based vocal harmony group best known for emotive ballads and a cappella harmonies. They now consist of baritone Nathan Morris, tenors Wanyá Morris, and Shawn Stockman. Boyz II Men were a foursome in the 1990s, including bass vocalist Michael McCary, who departed the group in 2003 owing to health difficulties later identified as multiple sclerosis.

Boyz II Men is among the music industry’s elite in terms of time spent at number one in Billboard history, having spent 50 weeks at the top. They are ranked sixth, after Drake, the Beatles, Rihanna, Elvis Presley, and Mariah Carey. Furthermore, when “On Bended Knee” replaced “I’ll Make Love to You” at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, Boyz II Men became only the third artist (after the Beatles and Elvis Presley) to do so. These accomplishments were enough to win Boyz II Men the title of Billboard magazine’s largest boy band from 1987 to 2012. Boyz II Men has four Grammy nominations.
