Rapper Babyface Ray, born Marcellus Rayvon Register on February 7, 1991, is an American from Detroit, Michigan. He is regarded as a significant and well-known member of the Detroit hip-hop community.
In 2010, Ray and fellow Detroit rapper Peezy joined Team Eastside. He began to acquire popularity in 2015 after his debut mixtape MIA Season was made available. He released his mixtape Ghetto Wave in 2017. He released MIA Season 2, the follow-up to MIA Season, as his second mixtape in 2019. He released his debut EP, Unfuckwitable, in February 2021, featuring EST Gee, Moneybagg Yo, and Kash Doll. On the Billboard 200 for the week ending February 27, 2021, the EP debuted at position 128.
He released his song “It Ain’t My Fault,” which features rapper Big Sean, in August 2021. Yung Lean, G Herbo, 42 Dugg, Pusha T, Wiz Khalifa, and Landstrip Chip, all Swedish rappers, had cameos on Ray’s debut album Face, which was released in January 2022. The album’s highest position on the Billboard 200 chart and Independent Albums chart was number two. Later in 2022, he joined rappers BabyTron, Cochise, and Kali in the 2022 XXL Freshman class and the ensuing cypher.
