We the Kings is a Bradenton, Florida-based American rock band. The band’s self-titled full-length first album, released in 2007, featured the platinum song “Check Yes Juliet” and sold over 250,000 copies in the United States. Smile Kid (2009), the group’s second album, including the Top 40 hits “Heaven Can Wait” and “We’ll Be a Dream” (with Demi Lovato), as well as the single “She Takes Me High.”
Sunshine State of Mind, the band’s third album, was released in 2011 and included the MTV Video Music Award winner for Most Innovative Music Video of the Year for the group’s interactive music video and song “Say You Like Me.” The band then completed a worldwide tour with Canadian band Simple Plan and headlined the Vans Warped Tour across the United States. The group’s fourth album, Somewhere Somehow, was released in late 2013 and features the singles “Just Keep Breathing”, “Find You There”, “Any Other Way”, and “Art of War”. Strange Love, their fifth studio album, was released on November 20, 2015. The single “Runaway” was included.
