Jacques Webster, best known by his stage name Travis Scott, was born on April 30, 1992, in the United States. He has forged his way into the music industry and collaborated with some of the most important musicians. He has cited Kanye West, T.I., Kid Kudi, Outkast, Bon Iver, Bjork, and many more as his main influences. He is signed to Very G.O.O.D Beats, the producing arm of Kanye West’s GOOD MUSIC.
Scott was reared in the nearby suburb of Missouri City after being born in Houston, Texas. When Scott was 16 years old, he and his friend Chris Holloway started a duo. They made their debut EP available on Myspace in 2009 under the moniker The Graduates. Both The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas at San Antonio were attended by him. Along with OG Chess, he started a new group called The Classmates. They chose to part ways after the release of two of their projects, with Scott producing all of the tunes, due to disagreements over money and personalities. He then made the decision to leave school and come to Los Angeles in order to pursue music as a full-time profession.
He started releasing tunes he had created after relocating to Los Angeles, one of which, “Lights (Love Sick),” was identified by skilled rapper and hip-hop legend T.I. Anthony Kilhoffer, Kanye West’s producer, took Scott under his wing after Scott was introduced to him. Then, he collaborated on numerous projects with Kanye and other notable figures in the business, contributing in a variety of ways like producing, directing music videos, and composing. He announced his US-wide tour, featuring Metro Boomin and Young Thug, in January 2015 as a way to promote the September release of his album Rodeo. With pop icon Rihanna, he co-wrote and produced the single “Bitch Better Have My Money” in March 2015. His admirers are eagerly anticipating the release of his record as they watch him develop as a rising star in the field.
