Tomorrow X Together, often known as TXT (/ti-ks-ti/ TEE-eks-tee), is a South Korean boy band created by Big Hit Entertainment, now known as Big Hit Music. Tomorrow X Together is a combination of the Korean and Japanese words Tomorrow Together and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai make up the group.
The Dream Chapter: Star, an extended play (EP), served as their debut on March 4, 2019. The EP was the highest-charting debut album by a male K-pop group at the time, debuting and peaking at number one on the Gaon Album Chart, Billboard World Albums Chart, and US Billboard 200. TXT became the second-fastest K-pop group to enter the Billboard Emerging Artists chart when its lead single “Crown” debuted at number one on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart and at the top of the Billboard World Digital Songs chart.
A number of new artist awards were given to the group as a result of their early commercial success, including Rookie of the Year at the 34th Golden Disc Awards and the 2019 Melon Music Awards, New Artist of the Year at the 9th Gaon Chart Music Awards, and Best New Male Artist at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards. The music of Tomorrow X Together “dabbles in disco, shoegaze, indie rock, and pop,” according to Rolling Stone, and explores “personal stories about the growing pains that come with being a teenager.” The majority of the band’s output, according to NME, is “bright, breezy, and blissfully free from life’s cares” and “focuses more on fantasy and enjoyment.” The group’s desire to participate more in songwriting has been acknowledged.
