The Used is an Orem, Utah-based American rock band that formed in 2001. Bert McCracken on vocals, Jeph Howard on bass, Dan Whitesides on drums, and Joey Bradford on guitar make up the band. Quinn Allman, Branden Steineckert, and Justin Shekoski are former members.
After signing with Reprise Records and releasing their self-titled first album in June 2002, the trio shot to stardom. In September 2004, they released their second album, In Love and Death, and in May 2007, they released their third album, Lies for the Liars. In February 2008, the band released Shallow Believer, an EP that included the majority of their B-sides. Artwork, their fourth studio album, was released in August 2009. Vulnerable, the fifth album, was released in March 2012 by the independent label Hopeless Records. They released another EP, The Ocean of the Sky, in July 2013. Imaginary Enemy, their sixth studio album, was released in April 2014.
The Canyon, their seventh studio album, was released in October 2017. Heartwork, their eighth studio album, was released in April 2020, with a deluxe version featuring b-sides from the session following in September 2021. Toxic Positivity, their ninth studio album, will be released on May 19, 2023. Their albums have achieved gold and platinum status in a number of places across the world.
