Australian metalcore band The Amity Affliction was founded in 2003 and is based in Gympie, Queensland. Ahren Stringer (bass, clean vocals), Joel Birch (lead vocals), Dan Brown (guitar), and Joe Longobardi make up the band’s current lineup (drums). Severed Ties (2008), Youngbloods (2010), Chasing Ghosts (2012), Let the Ocean Take Me (2014), This Might Be Heartbreak (2016), and Misery (2018) are only a few of The Amity Affliction’s seven studio albums, the last four of which debuted at the top of the ARIA charts. They are renowned for their intensely personal compositions, many of which are inspired by the difficulties of lead singer Joel Birch and deal with issues such as death, substance addiction, death, depression, and suicide.
