Stayve Jerome Thomas (born September 8, 1980) is an American rapper better known by his stage name Slim Thug. He initially achieved popular notoriety for his contribution to the hit tune by rapper Mike Jones, “Still Tippin’”. Already Platinum, his debut album, was released in July 2005 and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. The following year, he was featured (together with Bun B) on fellow Houston artist Beyoncé’s 2005 single “Check on It,” which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and won the MTV Video Music Award for Best R&B Video.
Slim Thug’s major debut album with Star Trak Entertainment and Interscope Records, Already Platinum, was released in July 2005 after several delays. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 130,000 copies in its first week. “3 Kings” (with T.I. and Bun B) and “I Ain’t Heard of That” were among the singles released (featuring Pharrell and Bun B). Slim Thug appeared on Still Tippin’ with Mike Jones and Paul Wall, Beyoncé Knowles’s #1 song “Check on It” and Gwen Stefani’s “Luxurious”. Slim Thug released three albums with the Boss Hogg Outlawz: Boys N Blue (2004), Serve & Collect (2007), and Back by Blockular Demand: Serve & Collect II (2010). (2008). In 2008, he left Star Trak and Interscope Records.
Slim Thug released his second solo album, Boss of All Bosses, in 2009. Although not as popular as his debut album, Boss of All Bosses debuted at #15 on the Billboard 200, selling 32,000 copies in its first week. The single “I Run” was included.
The Thug Show is Slim Thug’s third studio album. His first hit, “Gangsta,” featured Z-Ro. His second song, “So High,” featured rapper/singer B.o.B. It was published on November 30, 2010. On April 23, 2013, he released a new EP named Welcome to Texas EP, which included Rick Ross, Pimp C, and Ludacris, among others.
