Skillet is an American Christian rock band founded in 1996 in Memphis, Tennessee. The current lineup includes husband John Cooper (lead vocals, bass) and wife Korey Cooper (rhythm guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), as well as Jen Ledger (drums, vocals) and Seth Morrison. (lead guitar). The band has released eleven albums, two of which, Collide and Comatose, were nominated for Grammys. The RIAA has certified two of their albums, Comatose and Awake, as Platinum and Double Platinum, respectively, while Rise and Unleashed are Gold as of June 29, 2020.
Four of their songs, “Monster,” “Hero,” “Awake and Alive,” and “Feel Invincible,” have been certified Multi-Platinum (5 platinum, 3 platinum, and 2 platinum, respectively), while two others, “Whispers in the Dark” and “Comatose,” have been certified Platinum, and four others, “Rebirthing,” “Not Gonna Die,” “The Last Night,” and “The Resistance,” have been certified Gold.
