American rock group Rival Sons were founded in 2009 in Long Beach, California. Michael Miley plays bass guitar, Scott Holiday plays guitar, Jay Buchanan sings lead, and Dave Beste plays guitar (drums). Todd Gren, a keyboardist, joins them when they go on tour. They have a recording contract with Atlantic Records under Dave Cobb’s Low Country Sound subsidiary of Elektra. They have six albums and one EP to their credit.

The band is frequently praised for both its musical and sartorial senses. Scott Holiday is known for working with tailor Ray Brown, and the group frequently dons boots made by UK bootmaker Jeffery West. In contrast to Jay Buchanan, whose style is unexpected and includes wearing flowers in his hair, flowing flowered shirts, and tight leather jackets, Scott Holiday is well recognized for his slim-line tailored suits, mustache, and sunglasses.
