Geoffrey Royce Rojas (born May 11, 1989) is an American singer known professionally as Prince Royce. Royce had an interest in music at a young age and began experimenting with music and composing poems throughout his adolescence. Royce met Andrés Hidalgo, who became his manager when he was nineteen years old. After hearing three of Royce’s demos, Hidalgo recommended him to record producer Sergio George, who quickly signed him to his label.
In March 2010, Royce released his eponymous first studio album, which yielded two commercially successful songs, “Stand by Me” and “Corazón Sin Cara”. Both songs peaked at number one on the Billboard Tropical Songs list in the United States, while “Corazón Sin Cara” peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums and Tropical Albums charts in the United States.
Royce won three wins at the 2011 Billboard Latin Music wins, including Tropical Album of the Year. Royce’s second studio album, Phase II, was released in 2012 and debuted at number one on both the US Latin Albums and Tropical Albums charts. The album, which included the hits “Las Cosas Pequeas” and “Incondicional,” was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Tropical Fusion Album.
