Popcaan joined the Gaza Music Empire of Vybz Kartel in 2008. In 2010, he and Kartel published “Clarks,” a homage to the well-known shoe company, which became an instant smash around the world.
Where We Came From, Popcaan’s debut studio album was released in 2013 after he inked a deal with Mixpak Records. In 2016, Canadian rapper Drake’s record company OVO Sound and Warner Records signed Popcaan. “Only Guy She Want,” “Everything Good,” “Ova Dweet,” “El Chapo,” and “Family” are some of Popcaan’s international hits. Popcaan debuted as an actor in The Intent 2: The Coming Up (2018).
Among the many international artists with whom Popcaan has worked are Drake, Jamie xx, Pusha T, Giggs, Matoma, Wale, Gorillaz, and Davido.
