Peezy, a well-known hip-hop and rap musician from Detroit, first gained notoriety in the early 2010s as a member of the Team Eastside rap collective in the Motor City. Peezy was born in Phillip Glen-Earl Peaks. Peezy made a name for himself as a solo artist in 2015 after the release of his third album, Mud Sweat & Tears, which is known for its rebellious lyrics and abrasive flow. He released a new mixtape in early 2017 with the catchy title Ballin’ Ain’t a Crime. He released three more mixtapes that year: People’s Champ, Winter Grind, and Ghetto Wave. He released the No Hooks mixtape to start off the year 2018, followed by No Hooks 2 and Royalty One the following year. Ballin Ain’t a Crime 2 debuted later that year. In 2020, Peezy collaborated with Payroll Giovanni from the Detroit West Side rap group Doughboyz Cashout on Ghetto Rich Niggaz. With “Build a Bear” (with Pooh Beatz), Peezy opened in 2021, and the year came to a close with the full-length Free Rio. In 2022, he released Only Built 4 Diamond Links, continuing his strong trend.
