Nicholas Jerry Jonas (born September 16, 1992) is a singer, songwriter, and actor from the United States. Jonas began performing on Broadway at the age of seven and recorded his debut song in 2002, which drew the attention of Columbia Records, where he created the Jonas Brothers with his elder brothers, Kevin and Joe. In 2006, the trio released their debut studio album, It’s About Time, on the Columbia label. In 2007, the trio released their self-titled second studio album, which became their breakout record, after leaving Columbia Records and joining with Hollywood Records.
Jonas began production on his second solo studio album after signing with Island Records and releasing Nick Jonas through the company in 2014, which saw the financial success of the single “Jealous”. Later, Jonas co-founded Safehouse Records, a record company alongside the Island and Hollywood labels. Last Year Was Complicated (2016), his third studio album, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 list in the United States. Following the release, Jonas received the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2016.
