Mumford & Sons is a British folk rock band founded in 2007 in London. Marcus Mumford (lead vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums), Ted Dwane (vocals, bass guitar, double bass), and Ben Lovett now make up the band. (vocals, keyboards, piano).
Mumford & Sons has four studio albums to their credit: Sigh No More (2009), Babel (2012), Wilder Mind (2015), and Delta (2016). (2018). Sigh No More debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart and the Billboard 200 in the US, while Babel and Wilder Mind debuted at number one in both the UK and the US, with the former becoming the fastest-selling rock album of the decade and earning them a headline slot at the Glastonbury Festival in 2013. Live at Shepherd’s Bush Empire (2011), The Road to Red Rocks (2012), and Live from South Africa: Dust and Thunder (2013) are the band’s three live albums. (2017).
Throughout their history, the band has received a variety of music honors, including the Brit Award for Best British Album in 2011, a Mercury Prize nomination, and six total Grammy Award nominations for Sigh No More. The band’s fame in the United States skyrocketed following their live performance with Bob Dylan and The Avett Brothers at the 2011 Grammy Awards. Babel earned the band eight Grammy nominations in all, including Album of the Year. In 2013, the band received a Brit Award for Best British Group, as well as an Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement in 2014.
