Mother Mother is a Quadra Island, British Columbia-based indie music band. Ryan Guldemond on guitar and vocals, Molly Guldemond and Jasmin Parkin on vocals and keyboard, Ali Siadat on drums, and Mike Young on bass make up the band. Jeremy Page, the band’s longtime bassist, left in 2016.
They independently released their self-titled debut album Mother in 2005. They then renamed themselves Mother Mother and reissued the record on Last Gang Records in 2008. The edition retitled Touch Up, included six new songs.
O My Heart, the band’s second album, was released on September 16, 2008; Eureka, their third album, was released on March 15, 2011; The Sticks, their fourth album, was released on September 18, 2012; and Very Good Bad Thing, their fifth album, was released on November 4, 2014, with an American release date of April 7, 2015, on Def Jam Recordings. No Culture, their sixth album, was released on February 10, 2017, through Def Jam Recordings in the United States.
Dance and Cry, their seventh studio album, was released on November 2, 2018. The band’s music got viral on TikTok in late 2020, triggering a rise in streams. Inside, their eighth studio album was released on Warner Brothers Music on June 25, 2021. On January 28, 2022, the band published a deluxe edition of Inside, which included seven new tracks.
