Mitch Fatel (born December 20, 1968 in Manhattan) is an American stand-up comedian. He grew up in Yonkers, New York, and started doing stand-up at the age of 15. In 1988, Fatel enrolled at NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, where he majored in cinema and acting studies. At the same time, Mitch interned on The Howard Stern Show. When Mitch departed the show, he brought a pal, John Melendez, with him. John went on to replace him as an intern and earned the moniker “Stuttering John.”
Fatel is a regular at the legendary Comedy Cellar. He has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O’Brien, as well as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, where he covered important athletic events and conferences. Miniskirts and Muffins, his first CD, arrived at number one on the iTunes Comedy Charts in 2004. He was named “Best Comedian” at the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival in 2006. In the same year, Laugh.com published his second CD, Super Retardo.
