Mika is a singer-songwriter who was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and raised in Paris and London. Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr., better known by his stage name, Mika, was born on August 18, 1983.

After releasing his debut extended play, Dodgy Holiday, Mika was ranked as the top anticipated breakthrough talent of 2007 by music reviewers in the annual Sound of 2007 survey conducted by the BBC. Life in Cartoon Motion, Mika’s debut studio album, was published on Island Records in 2007 and has since sold more than 8.3 million copies worldwide. It also helped Mika win the Best British Breakthrough Act Brit Award and gain a Grammy Award nomination. With “Grace Kelly,” which peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart in January 2007, he has since gone on to record four additional platinum-selling studio albums. His most recent, My Name is Michael Holbrook, was released in October 2019. He also serves as a judge and mentor on the French and Italian versions of The Voice and X Factor.
