American pop-rock group Maroon 5 hails from Los Angeles, California. Rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, pianist PJ Morton, and multi-instrumentalist and bassist Sam Farrar make up the band at the moment. When they were still in high school, Levine, Carmichael, Mickey Madden on bass, and Ryan Dusick on drums formed Kara’s Flowers in 1994.
It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, the group’s second album, was released in May 2007. The lead song, “Makes Me Wonder,” earned the band’s first number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200 list. To positive reviews, the band released their third album Hands All Over in 2010. A year later, it was re-issued with the single “Moves like Jagger,” which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2012, after the band published its fourth album Overexposed, and the single “One More Night” spent nine weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 list, Carmichael departed the group and was replaced by musician PJ Morton.
