Singer Manuel Turizo Zapata, also known as MTZ or simply as Manuel Turizo, is from Colombia. He was born and raised in Montera, and at age 13 he began writing songs. His song “Una Woman Como T” was the one that first made him famous (2016). ADN, his first album, was released on August 23, 2019. Turizo’s vocal range has been categorized as a baritone, and his music has pop, trap, and vallenato influences. His 2022 single “La Bachata” is his most well-known song.
Along with Ozuna, Turizo produced the track “Vaina Loca” in September 2018, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song spent two weeks on the chart and peaked at number 94. He co-wrote the song “Desconocidos” alongside Mau y Ricky in October 2018. His single “Sola” debuted at number one on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart in March 2019. On August 23, 2019, he released ADN, his debut album, which included contributions from Zion & Lennox, Noriel, Ozuna, Darell, Nicky Jam, Sech, and Anuel AA. ADN reached its highest point at number eight on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. The French streaming service Deezer selected Turizo as the first Latin “global priority artist” in September 2019.
