Jermaine Coleman (born August 30, 1973), better known by his stage name Maino, is a New York City-based American rapper.
His debut track, “Hey Hater,” reached number 16 on Billboard’s Top Rap Songs chart. “All the Above,” his follow-up, includes American singer T-Pain and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Maino has sold slightly around 4 million digital singles worldwide to date.
On August 28, 2007, Maino secured a deal with Atlantic Records for himself and his Hustle Hard label. He immediately started work on his debut album, If Tomorrow Comes…. In April 2008, his commercial debut single, “Hello Hater,” was released. Maino later released an official remix of the song, which featured fellow American rappers T.I., Swizz Beatz, Plies, Jadakiss, and Fabolous. “All the Above,” featuring T-Pain, was the album’s second single. “All the Above” is Maino’s first Billboard Hot 100 chart entry. It opened at #54 and quickly moved to #39 the following week.
It also reached number 10 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart, number 59 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and number 46 on the Pop 100. Maino’s only Top 40 hit to date, the track is certified platinum. The album’s third single, “Million Dollars,” features Swizz Beatz’s vocals and production. If Tomorrow Arrives… The album opened at number 25 on the Billboard 200, selling 18,000 copies in its first week. Maino also composed an original song, “Getaway Driver,” for the computer game Grand Theft Auto IV in 2008.
Maino recorded “Crazy” with Erika Jayne in 2015, which became a number-one dance hit in the United States.
