Hugo Pierre Leclercq, best known by his stage name Madeon, is a French DJ and music producer from Nantes who now calls Los Angeles home. He was born on May 30, 1994. In a YouTube video titled “Pop Culture,” which he uploaded when he was just 17 years old, he mash-ups 39 different hit songs live while utilizing a Novation Launchpad. In the first few days after release, it attracted millions of hits. The Beatles and Daft Punk are two of Madeon’s most significant musical inspirations.
The City, Madeon’s debut EP, was made available in 2012. Adventure, his first studio album, was released in 2015 and was accompanied by a 22-stop North American tour. As part of the Good Faith Live tour, Madeon released his second album, “Good Faith,” in 2019.
Madeon was listed as the 105th best DJ in 2017 by DJ Mag. He and Porter Robinson were both nominated in 2017 for two Electronic Music Awards: Single of the Year and Live Act of the Year. Good Faith was a Grammy Award nominee for Best Electronic Album in 2021.
