Luis Alfonso Rodrguez López-Cepero, better known by his stage name Luis Fonsi, is a Puerto Rican musician. He was born on April 15, 1978. He is well-known for several songs, including “Despacito,” which he co-wrote with the rapper Daddy Yankee.
Due to the song “Aqu Estoy Yo,” Fonsi garnered his first Latin Grammy Award nominations in the category of Record of the Year and went on to win Song of the Year. Three Billboard Latin Music Awards were also given to the song. Fonsi’s greatest hit, “Despacito,” garnered three Grammy Award nominations, seven Billboard Latin Music Awards, four Latin Grammy Awards, and four Billboard Music Awards. Along with Demi Lovato, he and the song “Échame la Culpa” also received a Latin American Music Award.
As of 2018, Fonsi had broken six Guinness World Records and sold more than 11 million records with “Despacito,” whose music video had received over 7 billion views as of November 2020, making it the most-watched YouTube video of all time.
