Lindsay Elizabeth Ell (born March 20, 1989) is a Calgary, Alberta-based Canadian-American country pop singer, songwriter, guitarist, and television personality. Her music is influenced by rock and blues. She is signed to Stoney Creek Records, an imprint of Broken Bow Records in the United States. Worth the Wait, her first extended play, was published in March 2017. Her first full-length country album, The Project, landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Album Sales chart in August 2017.
Ell was found by Randy Bachman when she was only 15 years old. Bachman praised her as “the most creative and multi-faceted performer I’ve come across in recent years”. Consider This was co-written and produced by Bachman. It was recorded at Bachman’s Saltspring Island studio, and Ell co-wrote the majority of the 11 tracks. Bachman’s record company Ranbach Music released the album in 2006, and it was distributed by Fontana North. In 2008, Ell went on tour with blues guitarist Buddy Guy. In comparison to her debut, she shifted to a more acoustic style in her 2009 album, Alone.
Ell’s fifth studio album, Heart Theory, was released on August 14, 2020, and featured the singles “I Don’t Love You”, “Want Me Back”, and “Good on You”. Ell was revealed as the host of the second season of Canada’s Got Talent, which will premiere 2022, in October 2021. She co-hosted the 2021 Canadian Country Music Awards with Priyanka.
