Born in Rossville, Georgia on November 8, 1994, Lauren Alaina Kristine Suddeth is an American singer and songwriter. On the tenth season of American Idol, she finished second. On October 11, 2011, her first studio album, Wildflower, was made available. Road Less Traveled, her second album, was released on January 27, 2017. With the album’s first single, Alaina later scored her first No. 1 on the Country Airplay list. Later that year, she shared her second No. 1 with her friend and old classmate Kane Brown for the song “What Ifs,” which concurrently topped five Billboard charts.
She competed in Dancing with the Stars’ twenty-eighth season, where she and her partner Gleb Savchenko finished in fourth place. Sitting Pretty on Top of the World, Alaina’s third studio album was made available on September 3, 2021. Alaina accepted Trisha Yearwood’s invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry in December 2021. On February 12, 2022, Yearwood presented her with her induction at an Opry performance.
