American rapper Kevin Perez, also known as Kay Flock, was born on April 20, 2003. He started his musical career in 2020 and is a native of the Bronx. Shake It was one of his most famous singles. The D.O.A. Tape, his first mixtape, was released in 2021.
In May 2020, Kay Flock launched his debut single, “FTO,” and went on to release “Opp Spotter” (with B-Lovee), “Brotherly Love” (featuring B-Lovee and Dougie B), and “PSA” as well.
The D.O.A. Tape, Kay Flock’s debut mixtape, was released on November 5, 2021, and it reached its highest point on the Heatseekers Albums chart. He released “Is Ya Ready” in August, and journalist Jon Caramanica listed it among the top 28 songs of the year. Afterward, he released “Being Honest,” which features XXXTentacion’s “Changes” as a sample. The song was cited as “reminiscent of G Herbo” and included in Pitchfork’s top 100 and best 38 rap tracks of 2021 lists.
With Dougie B, Cardi B, and Bory300, Kay Flock released “Move It” in April 2022. The song reached number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was leaked months before, but Mula Gzz, a rapper from Yonkers, had a verse that had since been replaced by Cardi’s.
