Jaskaran Singh “Karan” Aujla, an Indo-Canadian singer, rapper, and songwriter, was born on January 18, 1997. He is well-known for his many songs, seven of which have appeared on the global YouTube music list and many of which were featured in the UK Asian chart by Official Charts Company. He was named the largest digital artist on Spotify in 2021 after his debut album, BTFU, reached peak positions of 20 on the Billboard Canada Albums chart and 34 on the New Zealand Albums chart. It was also included in their list of the most well-known artists in the Punjabi music industry.
Aujla, a native of Ghurala, Ludhiana, began his career writing the lyrics for Jassi Gill’s song “Range” on the album Replay. He later moved to Canada where he composed lyrics for a number of other musicians, including Deep Jandu and Elly Mangat. In 2016, he debuted as a main artist with the song “Property of Punjab” and began appearing in songs as a guest artist. He first gained attention for his songs “Yaarian Ch Fikk,” “Unity,” “Alcohol 2,” and “Lafaafe” before being well-known in 2018 with “Don’t Worry,” his maiden entry into the UK Asian chart. His singles “Jhanjar,” “Red Eyes,” and “Kya Baat Aa” all peaked in the top 10 in 2020, while “So Far” peaked in the top 5.
