Joseph Glenn Herbert Sr. (born June 2, 1971) is an American stand-up comedian and actor better known as Jo Koy. He appeared frequently on E! as a panelist.Chelsea Lately, a late-night talk program hosted by. He has now appeared in other Comedy Central and Netflix specials.

Jo Koy attributes his comedy and acting abilities to his mother. In his comedic gigs, he usually shares anecdotes about her. She pushed him to take part in school talent competitions and to provide spontaneous performances for his family and friends. This led to performances in a coffee shop in Las Vegas, which prompted a transfer to Los Angeles.

In 1994, the young comic began his stand-up career at a comedy club in Las Vegas. He quickly progressed from open mic night to a regular place on the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino’s show Catch a Rising Star. He hired the Huntridge Theater after appearing at the MGM Grand Las Vegas and went door to door selling tickets to his comedy concerts.
