Jelly Roll, a stage name for Jason DeFord (born December 4, 1984), is a well-known American rapper and country singer who has worked with Lil Wyte, Struggle Jennings, Yelawolf, Tech N9ne, and Ryan Upchurch.
Over 6.3 million people have viewed Jelly Roll and Memphis rapper Lil Wyte’s 2010 song “Pop Another Pill” on YouTube. The hip-hop trio SNO used this song as the inspiration for their album Year Round, which was produced by DJ Paul and Juicy J and released on the Hypnotize Minds label in April 2011. XXL listed SNO’s song “Come Here White Girl” as one of “The 10 Most Memorable White Rapper Collaborations.”
Jelly Roll released numerous mixtapes, including the Therapeutic Music and Gamblin’ on a Whiteboy series. The Big Sal Story, his first solo studio album that was independently distributed, was made available on October 26, 2012. He released two joint albums with Haystak, two joint albums with Lil Wyte, four joint albums with Struggle Jennings, and one joint album with Lil Wyte and BPZ under the name SNO.
Whiskey, Weed & Waffle House was the title of Jelly Roll’s 2013 mixtape before it was changed to Whiskey, Weed, & Women as the restaurant threatened legal action due to the usage of its name and emblem on the cover. The Waffle House emblem was replaced with a “stop and desist” mark on the replacement cover.
