Jeffrey Douglas Dunham (born April 18, 1962) is an American ventriloquist, stand-up comedian, and actor who has been on The Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central Presents, The Tonight Show, and Sonny With a Chance. Arguing with Myself, Spark of Insanity, Jeff Dunham’s Very Special Christmas Special, Controlled Chaos, Minding the Monsters, and All Over the Map are his six Comedy Central specials. Dunham also appeared in The Jeff Dunham Show, a 2009 series on the network.
His demeanor has been described as “a dressed-down, more digestible Don Rickles with multiple personality disorder.” His personas have been described as “politically incorrect, gratuitously insulting, and ill-tempered” by Time. Dunham has been credited with revitalizing ventriloquism and has done more to promote the art form than anybody since Edgar Bergen.
