Incubus is a Calabasas, California-based American rock band. While attending Calabasas High School, vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer José Pasillas formed the band, which later expanded to include bassists Alex “Dirk Lance” Katunich and Gavin “DJ Lyfe” Koppell, who were both replaced by bassist Ben Kenney and DJ Kilmore, respectively.
Incubus has achieved commercial success, selling multi-platinum albums and creating multiple hit songs. Following the success of their first two albums, Fungus Amongus (1995) and S.C.I.E.N.C.E. (1997), the band gained mainstream recognition with the release of their 1999 album Make Yourself, which spawned several hits, including the band’s highest charting song “Drive,” and continued with the albums Morning View (2001) and A Crow Left of the Murder… (2004). Light Grenades, their sixth studio album, arrived at No. 1 in 2006, and was followed by Monuments and Melodies, Incubus’ first greatest hits album, in June 2009, and If Not Now, When?, the band’s 2011 album. Incubus also released an EP, Trust Fall (Side A), in early 2015, then two years later, on April 21, 2017, the band released their eighth studio album, named 8. On April 17, 2020, a second EP, Trust Fall (Side B), was published. Incubus has sold over 23 million records globally as of October 2022.
