Huncho Jack is a hip-hop supergroup made up of Atlanta-based musician Quavo of Migos and Houston-based musician Travis Scott. On December 21, 2017, the duo released their debut studio album Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho, which got generally positive reviews.
Quavo revealed a joint album with Travis Scott on Scott’s Apple Music Wav Radio broadcast in December 2016, showcasing several recorded tracks. On April 3, 2017, it was revealed that Scott was working on a joint album with Quavo, with whom he previously collaborated on the tune “Oh My Dis Side” off Scott’s first album Rodeo, as well as the Young Thug collaboration “Pick Up the Phone,” both of which were released in 2017. In an interview with GQ, he stated, “The Quavo album is coming soon. I’m launching new music soon, but you know how I do it: I enjoy surprises.”
In an interview with Montreality published on September 18, 2017, Quavo indicated that the collaboration album would be released “very soon”. He also revealed that he and Travis Scott are working on over 20 records. On December 7, 2017, a video of Quavo being interviewed by Zane Lowe was shared on the official Beats 1 Twitter account. When asked what the title of their forthcoming effort would be, he stated Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho. Grand Hustle Records, Epic Records, Cactus Jack Records, Quality Control Music, Capitol Records, and Motown released Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho two weeks later on December 21, 2017, for streaming and digital download.
