Haim is a Los Angeles-based American rock band made up of three sisters: Este (bass guitar and vocals), Danielle (lead vocals, guitar, and percussion), and Alana Haim. (guitars, keyboards, and vocals). In addition to their primary instruments, everyone is skilled in a variety of others. The pop tone of the group’s studio work contrasts with the more rock-oriented sound of their live concerts.
In mid-2012, the group’s debut release, Forever (a limited-time download EP), paired with favorable feedback at the South by Southwest festival led to a partnership with Polydor Records and a management arrangement with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation organization. Days Are Gone (2013), the band’s debut album, was recorded in sessions between touring dates, including concerts at the Glastonbury Festival. By the end of 2013, the album had ranked in the top 10 in various countries, including the UK, and the group had received multiple “best of” accolades.
