Greta Van Fleet is a 2012 American rock band from Frankenmuth, Michigan. It is made up of the Kiszka brothers Josh (vocals), Jake (guitar), and Sam (bass guitar, keyboards), as well as Danny Wagner (drums). They were signed to Lava Records in March 2017, and their debut studio EP, Black Smoke Rising, was released a month later. In September 2017, their debut single, “Highway Tune,” topped the Billboard U.S. Mainstream Rock and Active Rock charts for four weeks in a row. Their second EP, From the Fires, was released on November 10, 2017, alongside a second single, “Safari Song,” and included four songs from Black Smoke Rising as well as four new songs. From the Fires won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2019.
Anthem of the Peaceful Army, their debut full-length studio album, was released on October 19, 2018, and topped the Billboard Rock Album rankings in its first week. The first song from the album, “When the Curtain Falls,” was released in July 2018 and earned the band’s third number-one single in the United States. Mainstream Rock charts on Billboard. Anthem of the Peaceful Army also debuted at the top of the Billboard Hard Rock charts and hit number one on the Billboard Top Album Sales rankings in its first week. The Battle at Garden’s Gate, the band’s second studio album, was released on April 16, 2021.
